BRYAN BECK

President

Since joining The Beck Group in 2003, Mr. Beck has been involved with a wide variety of planning and consulting projects. Currently, he oversees the company’s competitive assessment (benchmarking) services.  He served as project manager for numerous planning projects including feasibility studies and timber valuation systems, has organized and overseen in-mill log tests, and has been involved in a number of legal expert witness cases. 


Bryan’s work includes development of the company’s training workshops, including in-depth management training events and higher-level “Sawmilling 101” workshops; he is regularly called upon to speak at industry gatherings.  He has been involved in multiple acquisition due diligence projects, facility appraisal and valuation projects, timber and biomass supply/demand studies, and business plan development assistance.


Bryan’s experience with the company also includes involvement in numerous capital planning, sawmill modernization, and new facility feasibility studies. As a part of these projects, Bryan has analyzed the benefits of installing or upgrading optimization technology; predicted impacts on piece counts at machine centers and the related effects on mill flow; assessed timber supply to determine appropriate equipment configurations; and determined financial impacts related to lumber recovery, productivity, and product yield changes.

Bryan has more than 25 years of experience in the forest products industry.  Prior to joining The Beck Group, Bryan worked for Zip-O-Log Mills in Eugene, OR, a company specializing in custom timbers and clear lumber. Mr. Beck’s experience also includes working jointly with Jeld-Wen and Neste Resins to optimize resin formula and implementation in Jeld-Wen’s MDF door skin production. He also has worked in sawmill quality control for a dimension lumber producer.
In addition, Mr. Beck has worked in custom home construction and custom cabinetry.
